Rare Breed dual outdoor AC condensers installed in Utah

Cooling and Air Conditioning

A house that will not cool in July is a system telling you something is wrong.

We find the actual cause before we quote a fix, then we do the work. Booked visits run on a 3-hour appointment window.

Every Cooling Service We Offer

We repair, install, and tune up central AC and ductless mini-splits across Northern Utah, and we diagnose the actual cause before we quote a fix, so you are not sold a new system when you needed a capacitor. An AC that gets checked every spring does not usually die in the first heat wave. Call 385-449-0144 or book online.

Comfort beyond the condenser: home zoning and comfort balancing for two-story houses that never feel even, smart thermostat setup matched to the equipment you have, whole house fans for cool Utah nights, and attic fan installation where the attic can breathe.

We cover Salt Lake, Davis, Utah, Weber, Summit, Tooele, Wasatch, Cache, and Box Elder counties from our shops in Sandy, Bountiful, and Orem. Every job is measured against our A STEPP standards, backed by a 3-hour appointment window and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Do I really need to service my AC every year?

Yes. A spring tune-up catches a weak capacitor, a dirty coil, or a low charge while it is still cheap, instead of on the first 100 degree day.

What is actually included in an AC tune-up?

We wash the condenser coil, check the refrigerant charge against the manufacturer target, test capacitors and contactors, clear the condensate drain, and read airflow across the coil.

How do I know if my AC is the right size for my home?

We run a load calculation on insulation, windows, and layout. Bigger is not better. An oversized unit short cycles and never pulls the humidity out.

Is ductless better than central air?

For one room, an addition, or a basement that the duct never reached, ductless wins. For whole-home consistency, central air wins. We install both and we will tell you which one your house actually needs.

What does a cooling diagnostic cost?

There is a service call fee, and we waive it when you have us do the work. If we do not yet know what is wrong, there is a diagnostic fee, which differs during business hours and after hours, and it is often rolled into the repair depending on how involved the diagnosis was. If you already know what you need and just want a price, that is an estimate, and those are often free. Ask when you book and we will tell you the number before we drive. Estimates on replacement work are free.

Can I finance a new air conditioner?

Yes, for qualified homeowners. We will show the monthly number beside the repair option so you can compare them honestly.

How can I lower my cooling bills without replacing the system?

Seal and repair the duct, fix the airflow, and get the filter right. We find a lot of homes losing conditioned air into a crawlspace before the equipment is ever the problem.

Why do the same cooling problems keep coming back?

Because the unit gets serviced and the duct never does. We look at airflow, load, and duct as one system instead of treating the condenser on its own.

Gibb Van Orman was so nice and so honest. My furnace wasn’t heating the air it was blowing. Gibb found the problem instantly and it was a quick fix. Other servicers could have said I needed a new motor but Gibb was honest about it. He also fixed a small problem that a previous servicer from a different company handled incorrectly. Overall, this was another great service visit from Rare Breed.
